Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.,  – State Securities Examiners attending the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) annual Broker Dealer Training conference in Fort Lauderdale from June 9 -11, 2010, have been armed with the finer points of giving depositions by Securities Fraud Attorney Mark A. Tepper.
Tepper, a former New York Assistant Attorney General and Chief Trial Counsel at the Bureau of Investor Protection and Securities, accepted an invitation from the Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) to help train Securities Examiners from Florida, the District of Columbia, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico during the annual Broker Dealer Training Session.
Titled, “Securities Staff: Now it’s Your Turn to be Deposed,” the presentation drew from Tepper’s extensive experience as a securities fraud prosecutor and supplied Examiners with key points for giving depositions, while identifying important elements that might be overlooked.
Since establishing his law practice in Fort Lauderdale representing victims of fraudulent investment practices, Tepper takes time from his busy practice to address professional associations, local clubs and financial organizations in a continuing effort to educate on the subject of securities fraud.
A member of the Speaker’s Bureau of the Florida Bar, Tepper has previously organized and presented suitability training for State Securities Examiners during NASAA’s Broker/Dealer Conference. Following his tenure as a New York Assistant Attorney General in 1988, he was presented by NASAA with an ‘Outstanding Service Award.’
